Terebinth 2025 RISE Annual Breakfast

Our Annual RISE Breakfast isn’t just a delicious breakfast—it’s a powerful gathering where our community comes together to shine a light on human trafficking in our area. We stand with survivors and take action toward change and prevention. Each year, we invite a speaker whose expertise and insight help us understand the reality of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. This event was created to inspire us to become the relief. By giving to resources in your area, you can help these women and children find hope, healing, and independence.

This year, we are honored to welcome Dr. Jeanne Allert as our keynote speaker.

About Dr. Jeanne Allert

Dr. Jeanne L. Allert is the founder and executive director of The Samaritan Women, a national Christian nonprofit dedicated to restoring survivors of domestic sex trafficking. With a Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychological Studies, Dr. Allert has contributed groundbreaking research on familial trafficking and survivor restoration. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and her leadership has earned recognition such as Maryland’s Top 100 Women and the Silver Stevie Award for Most Innovative Woman of the Year in Nonprofit.

Why RISE Matters

This annual breakfast is important to Terebinth Refuge because RISE is our primary fundraiser of the year. The funds raised through tickets, sponsorships, and donations directly sustain our mission to provide safe shelter, trauma-informed care, and long-term support for women rebuilding their lives.

Every dollar given is used to expand our life-changing services:

  • Shelter Program: Our Christ-centered shelter and safe housing brings hope, healing services, and freedom to sexually exploited and trafficked women. Through our holistic and innovative program design, we eliminate barriers to receiving care by bringing many services directly to residents during their stay.
  • Transitional Housing Program: Along with being a shelter program for hope and healing, Terebinth Refuge also provides longer-term transitional housing and various on-site services to help women attain their individual goals toward recovery and independence.
  • Employment Ready Program: At our Hope & Healing Store, we’ve created opportunities where survivors can learn skills to become independent and self-sufficient for future employment.
  • After Care Program: The Aftercare program offers collaborative support and programming to past residents, assisting them toward consistent stability and sustainable independence. This is accomplished through mentorship, coaching, advocacy, and education.

But RISE is also about more than funding—it’s about breaking misconceptions about human trafficking by educating and bringing awareness to the real issues. When you buy a ticket, you are doing more than just supporting Terebinth Refuge; you are raising awareness, demonstrating solidarity with survivors, and helping spark conversations in our community. Together, we are creating a culture that stands against exploitation and fights for restoration.
