Terebinth Refuge understands that even if you are safe right now, you might be experiencing some lasting impacts due to past exploitation. The violence is not your fault. You are not alone. We are here to help and support you as you work to process the trauma you experienced, learn coping skills, and move forward in addressing your goals.
Our advocates can work with you to create a safety plan that includes ways to be safe while in your situation, as you are planning to leave, or after you leave. There are many things to consider when safety planning, including where to find shelter or safe housing, how to cope with your emotions, what other supportive services are available to you, and more. Each person’s safety plan is going to be different.
Our advocates are available by appointment to meet with you individually to discuss your situation and next steps. This can include discussing your current concerns such as safety, housing, and finances, and identifying resources at Terebinth or other agencies we partner with to get you what you need. Online and in-person Survivor Support Groups are designed to facilitate a sense of community with other survivors.
Work with an advocate to map out your community resources, including food shelves, legal aid, medical and mental health providers, and other supports in the community.
Housing and financial independence are important to your freedom from exploitation. We can assist you in applying for benefits and seeking resources and referrals for affordable housing, education, and employment. Terebinth Refuge’s Housing Program may be an option, which includes ongoing support and advocacy to help you achieve your goals.
