Something exciting is taking shape at Terebinth Refuge, and we would love you to be part of it!
We are getting our new Program House with drop-in center ready for survivors of sex trafficking or sexual exploitation and their children. This will be a central location where any survivor in the community can come for a hot meal, shower, or laundry, a place to connect with a caring advocate for emotional support, safety planning, and help navigating systems or accessing benefits, and a place to access peer support, education and job skills training, and other practical help.
The new Program House will help Terebinth Refuge expand our Community Advocacy Program, enabling us to serve even more survivors, whether or not they are a resident in the Transitional Housing Program.
The need is great and we have already served over 125 women and children this year alone, which is a significant annual increase. Terebinth is committed to supporting survivors no matter where they are in their healing journey, ensuring access to critical services beyond their residential stay as funding, space, and staffing allow.
Right now, we are matching volunteers, qualified trades and generous neighbors with work such as cleaning, sorting, repairs, painting and room setup. Individuals, friends, churches and workplace teams are welcome to tell us how they would like to help.
Have time, skills or a useful item to offer? Complete our signup form, and we will follow up to confirm a project, current need and arrival or delivery details. We have shifts starting next week and this is a great way to help as an individual or group to give back to the community during the holidays!
Volunteer or Provide Skilled Labor and/or In-kind Supplies
Financial gifts are welcome too. Your gift supports Terebinth Refuge’s operating needs and survivor services, including preparing and sustaining the Program House. A prepared space needs people and dependable day-to-day support to bring it to life.
Please contact us before purchasing or dropping off items so we can match each gift to a current need.
Thank you for helping the next chapter take shape. We are grateful for the many ways this community shows up for women and their children. Will you please help us?
With Gratitude,
The Terebinth Refuge Team
P.S. A BIG SHOUT out to our community partners Martin Marietta who generously made the new Program House available with a long-term lease for just $1 a year! We also want to thank movers from www.getdelivered247.pro who worked out in the rain last week for 12 hours to make sure we were ready for this next big step! We highly recommend them!!
